Phi Slama Jama runs past #9 LSU

On December 6, 1983, the #6 Houston Cougars beat #9 LSU 100-91 in a highly-anticipated matchup at the Assembly Center in Baton Rouge. Michael Young led all scorers with 25 and also had 11 boards before fouling out.

Akeem finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds before he fouled out. Alvin Franklin added 23 points and Reid Gettys had 14 (12/13 from the FT line) and 10 assists. Five Cougar players finished with double-digits.
