The Cougars jogged from the Indoor Practice Facility across Holman and onto the outdoor practice fields, beginning the first day of practice in preparation for the Big 12. It was a light day in just shells – helmet and shoulder pads – mostly focusing on drills and technique.
The media were allowed to view about 30 minutes of practice. The team stretched and warmed up in the IPF before heading to the fields for instruction.
New QB coach Mike Burchett went straight to work with his four guys that were dressed out – Texas Tech transfer Donovan Smith, Lucas Coley, Jett Huff, and Jake Sock.
