COVID-19 in Fort Worth: Unless something changes wildly today, the AAC will go ahead with plans to host the tournament with fans in attendance. Several conferences – the Ivy, MAC, and WCC – decided to cancel or to play without fans. It’s impossible to know how the AAC will react today as things changed pretty quickly on Tuesday.
In any event, GoCoogs will be there Thursday through Sunday.
Stats I didn’t know: Chris Harris is blocking 14.2% of two-point shots taken when he’s on the floor. That’s #2 in the country.
Harris is 9th nationally in the percentage of possible offensive rebounds while he’s the floor (16.1%). In other words, when Chris is in there, he pulls down about one in 6 of UH’s missed shots.
Unblemished: 2019-2020 was the second time in three years that UH finished undefeated at home in conference play. The Coogs are 26-1 at HP&E and Fertitta Center over that stretch in conference games. UH also won their last two AAC games at Hofheinz.
Chasing History: The 2020-2021 team needs 12 AAC wins for Fabian White to break Galen Robinson’s school record for conference wins. Galen’s teams won 54 AAC games while he was here while Fabian’s teams have won 43.
Fabian’s teams are at 83 wins total – one more and he is in the top-10 all-time in school history. Who would he join at 84 wins? Hakeem.
