#10 Houston overcame a sluggish start to beat South Carolina, 77-67, on Saturday evening. The Cougars were without head coach Kelvin Sampson, associate head coach Kellen Sampson, and Marcus Sasser and Caleb Mills. UH responded in the second half with intensity and ran by the Gamecocks.

After the game, Kelvin Sampson said it was “a great culture win. I hope (media members) don’t get tired of me saying that but that’s what we’ve built here.”
