Cougar recruits had a solid weekend – matching UH’s productive Saturday night in Denton. Today we highlight Ugonna Nnanna, the OT from Arlington that is growing into his leadership position.
Ugonna Nnanna – OT
Arlington Seguin remains winless, now 0-5 after falling to Burleson, 45-27.
Stats: None available but here are his midseason highlights:
Ugonna was named Arlington ISD student-athlete of the month. “He simply does things the right way.”
“(Coach Brandon Jones) is like a father figure to me.”
Congratulations to @SeguinCougarFB senior Ugonna Nnanna (@Ugonna_58) for being named @CityOfArlington and @ArlingtonISD Student-Athlete of the Month! ?➡️https://t.co/ggWTMQtLsy@coachjoegordon pic.twitter.com/jMvcoUJjkQ

Next Up: Seguin tries to get win #1 this week as they host Cleburne on 10/04/2019.
Sofain Massoud – QB
Cy Lakes lost a close one to Cy Ranch 34-31. Massoud completed 26 of 40 passes for 416 yards and 3 TDs. He also rushed 96 yards on 8 carries (12 YPC).
Watch how he gets the ball out so fast – a perfect fit for this offense:
Next Up: Cy Woods comes calling on Saturday.
Kendal Septs – OG
FB Austin won their first game of the season with a 27-22 victory over the Dulles Vikings. No stats for the offensive guard.

Next Up: @Ridge Point on Saturday.
Reginald Johnson – WR
Southern Lab lost to 5A Baton Rouge Central, 7-6, in the Carl Porter Legacy Classic. The game was scoreless into the 4th quarter when Johnson scored Southern Lab’s only TD on this reverse where he fights off several tackles:
Johnson finished the game with 76 yards rushing (the reverse) and 5 catches for 46 yards. Lab was ranked #1 in Class 1A but are now 2-2.
Next up: Another 5A power – this time, a home game vs. Scotlandville.
Derek Bowman – OT
Magnolia beat the Waller Bulldogs 31-30.
Stats: Magnolia rushed for an impressive 359 yards on 38 carries, 3 TDs, and 9.4 YPC.

Next Up: Magnolia will host Lufkin on 10/04/19.
Adonis Friloux – DT
The Hahnville Tigers erased a 19-point first-quarter lead and came back to beat Terrebonne, 34-27. Hahnville began the game in a four-down front but switched to a three-man front which helped Friloux and his defense
“We were giving them a four-down look and then we got into an odd front. When we got in the odd front, it allowed us to clog the formation a little bit,” Hahnville coach Nick Saltaformaggio told VSNLouisiana.
Hahnville is now 4-0. Friloux’s stats are unavailable but Hahnville is now ranked #6 in Louisiana 5A:

Next Up: The Tigers are at home to fact East St. John on 10/04/19.
Dylan Robinson – WR
The Eagles dominated Sam Rayburn 82-0.
Stats: I cannot find the stats for this game, which is unfortunate because Robinson likely had a productive night.
Next Up: The Eagles host South Houston 10/03/19
Aidan Martin – K
Klein Cain lost a shootout to Conroe 58-55. Martin was 7/8 on PATs and missed a 46-yard FG (only attempt). 7 of his 8 kickoffs were touchbacks and the other was caught at the goal line (also attempted one onside kick).
Here are his kicks from the week before:
Next Up: Cain visits The Woodlands on 10/04/19.
