GoCoogs.com has acquired CoogFans.com, the largest message board in the UH market. Going forward, the two sites will operate separately but with some crossover in regards to content. However, publisher Ryan Monceaux expects to add a content component to CoogFans soon.
“CoogFans is one of the biggest brands in the UH community,” Monceaux said. “Ray Moore (CoogFans owner) approached GoCoogs on a sale because he trusts us to keep CoogFans thriving. That’s what we plan to do.” In 1999, Monceaux helped CoogFans founder Stephen Harper launch the website and expects to keep growing the independent site.
Earlier this week, GoCoogs announced former UH Basketball star Galen Robinson as a co-owner.
“Adding CoogFans gives us another prominent platform to engage the UH fan base,” the Godfather said. “Just watch: we’re about to take this to the next level.”
