Scholarship distribution is a moving target and no program is fully transparent about who is or isn’t on scholarship. GoCoogs has worked to nail down (as best as possible) how scholarships breakdown for the 2019 season. We are constantly updating this list with the best information available.

Notes On The Distribution
If added up, the total number equals 86, more than the NCAA’s limit of 85. Several of the transfers will count against next year’s class.
Grad transfers always count against the next class. This year, UH is “eating” the 2018 scholarships of grad transfers Quentin Dormady, Nick Watkins, Raelon Singleton, Terrence Williams, and Darrion Owens. The Cougars will be tagged with Dormady’s scholarship while he plays for Central Michigan this season.
There are huge holes in the chart in the sophomore/junior classes for QB and RB. Ideally, Tune will be able to redshirt this year but with so little depth it’s unlikely. Logan Holgorsen will be a freshman but is not on scholarship.
Besides the seniors, no other scholarship RB has a carry at UH. Chandler Smith has 30 carries but is not believed to be on scholarship. Transfer Kyle Porter will get his share of carries this year and is expected to be the workhorse in 2020.
As of Dana Holgorsen’s hiring, UH had just 11 defensive backs on scholarship. Now, there are 20.
The scholarship status of Dixie Wooten and Jordan Carmouche has been up for debate for a while. The belief is they are both on ‘ship now.
Thanks to GoCoogs.com subscriber Tim Hanna for his help in compiling the scholarship distribution chart.
