Photos: Houston beats undefeated SMU

The Houston Cougars jumped out to an early 17-0 lead but couldn’t hold it. UH began trading punches and won a classic, 44-37, after a 100-yard kickoff return by Marcus Jones.

Clayton Tune has his best day ever, throwing for 412 yards and four touchdowns. Tune was in command from the beginning of the game and when he lost star running back Alton McCaskill to an injury, he stepped up his game even more.

UH is now 7-1 and alone atop the AAC standings. The team flies to Tampa on Friday for a Saturday evening game against USF.
