The Cougars trailed Texas State at the half but rallied in the 2nd to win by 8. Neither team shot the ball well but UH clamped down: the Bobcats shot only 30% in the second half (and 1/9 from three-point range). UH was solid from the FT line (25/32 – 78%), helping to propel them to victory.
Houston blocked 10 shots in the second half – including 6 in a seven-minute span – after finishing the first half with 0 blocks.
