How’d Our Recruits Do? Week 2

Quick updates on all eight Houston Cougar commits plus video clips and highlights where available:

Sofain Massoud – QB

Cy Lakes had a big road win over Klein Forest 53-16 on Thursday night. Massoud was the star of the game, completing 17 of 28 passes for 323 yards and 4 TDs. He also ran for 63 yards on 12 carries and added a rushing touchdown. Here’s a video clip of a nice play by Massoud – on a bad snap, he steps up into the pocket and throws across his body – results in a 70-yard TD.

Next Up: 09/14/19 vs. Cypress Park at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium

Reginald Johnson – WR

Johnson and his #2-ranked Southern Lab defeated Baton Rouge Belaire 45-6 on Friday night. Next Up: The Kittens (2-0) will play Madison Prep at home on Thursday.

Kendal Septs – OG

Septs’ FB Austin Bulldogs fell to 0-2 with a close 24-21 loss to the Mayde Creek Rams. The Bulldogs managed just 44 yards on 25 carries. No individual stats for Septs available.

Next Up: Austin visits Katy Seven Lakes on 09/13/19

Derek Bowman – OT

Magnolia and Derek Bowman were drubbed by Shadow Creek 49-0. Here are Bowman’s highlights vs. Shadow Creek. He’s #53 the left tackle.

Next Up: Magnolia will host Montgomery on 09/13/19.

Klein Cain and Aidan Martin lost to Katy Tompkins 42-24. Martin connected on a first-half field goal and made three extra points.

Next Up: The Tigers visit the Mandeville Skippers on 09/13/19.

Ugonna Nnanna – OT

The Arlington Seguin fell to 0-2 with a lopsided loss to Mansfield Summit, 48-6. No stats are available for Nnanna.

Next Up: Fort Worth Everman on Friday night.

Dylan Robinson – WR

It was a highly anticipated matchup, but Atascocita went down hard to the Katy Tigers at home, losing 56-14. I attended this game and only remember Robinson being targeted one time, an incompletion. Atascocita busted a few big plays but for the most part, Katy disrupted their offense and held the Eagles to 249 total yards and just 13 first downs.

Next Up: The Eagles host the 0-2 Kingwood Mustangs on 09/13/19
