As a little boy, I couldn’t wait for Dave Campbell’s Texas Football to hit the shelves every summer. Go into a gas station – look for the magazine. Go into a grocery store – look for the magazine. Go into a bookstore – look for the magazine.
I’d look through them, because the one on front always looked flipped through, find the perfect copy, and buy it. It would eat up a lot of my allowance but it was worth it, and I’d head home, straight to my room, and engulf it.
DCTF was part of my childhood and when GoCoogs was given the opportunity to become part of the DCTF Podcast Network (The Republic of Football), I jumped at it. Now, to my non-stop amusement, I’ve been published by Dave Campbell’s. Not in the magazine, yet, but still this is a cool moment for me and our website.
I’m also excited to get Mario Puente’s photography to accompany the article – this website would not be what it is without Mario’s fantastic work.
