One of the first major outside events at the Fertitta Center was the Professional Bull Riders tour stop, dubbed the WinStar World Casino and Resort Houston Invitational Presented by Bass Pro Shops.
21-year-old Jess Lockwood won the event and $34,585. He is currently the #1 rider in the world and was the 2017 PBR World Champion rider.
