Houston’s top-20 matchup against Oklahoma State will also be the biggest recruiting game day of the year. Another group of talented players will be on hand to watch.

At least ten commits are expected to be in the building, including most recent commit Jason Wooden. Jerrell Bridges, Mo Poko, Cael Thigpen, Braden Baker, Kam Roberson, Logan Debose, Thomas Muiruri, Raiden Cook, and Tavon Bolden are expected to be there as well.

Players to monitor

There are a few other class of 2027 prospects to keep an eye on. CB Prince Washington from Lamar HS had an official visit with the Coogs in June, and has since committed to Colorado. Houston was in the final three when Washington decided. The program is clearly still interested.

LB Isaiah Reed from Hamshire Fannett HS is committed to Texas State. Alabama offered him in September. Reed missed most of his junior season with an injury but has fully recovered this season. He is an impressive mix of length and athleticism that coaches look for.

I saw Reed in person two summers ago, and he showed good ball skills and ability to move in space. Houston offered him in June of 2025 after a good camp showing. I expect the staff to keep recruiting him, even with two players already committed at his position.

The Houston staff offered WR Zach Forbish (Michigan State commit) from Lone Star HS earlier this month. Forbish presents a long frame and the ability to stretch the field. His movements are smooth, with little wasted motion getting in and out of breaks. Easy to see what caught the attention of GM Wes Fritz and WR Coach Brian Bell.

2028/2029

Most of the players visiting from the 2028 class are in-state players: 2028 TE Steeler Wesley (Skyridge HS – Utah) and 2028 WR Christopher Cunningham (Saraland HS – Alabama) are two who will be coming from around the country to watch Houston play Oklahoma State.

Others expected to be visiting from the 2028 class: TE James Skaer (College Park), DB Savion James (Summer Creek), DL RJ Wyms (College Park), OL Kendrick Morgan (Lone Star), OL Sean Sherman (Anna), DB Royce Bimage (Dickinson), DB Denim Steed (Stafford), DL Jayden Johnson (North Shore), DL Tre Jacquet (CE King), QB Donovan Warren (Episcopal), RB Tayveon Horne (Gilmer), DB Cordey Sherman (CE King), DL Kingston Rodgers (Royse City).

2029 class visitors: EDGE Cameron Bledsoe (Cy Ranch), LB John David Brittain (Angleton).
